Audio-visual guided tour of the town
Experience an entertaining tour of Bingen. The nun Almut of Rupertsberg ensures a very special visit to Bingen with exciting information and her personal experiences. With the cheeky Bingen Town Mouse, the kids experience adventures and by playing also learn something about Bingen’s history.

Museum Guided Tour
With St. Hildegard’s anniversary in 1998, in the former power station on the banks of the Rhine, the Historical Museum on the River opened its doors. The largest department is devoted to the universal scholar and theologian. One of the museum’s very special treasures is a complete set of surgical instruments from the Roman era. Another department is devoted to the epoch of Rhenish Romanticism, this 200-year era is brought vividly to life in a unique exhibition of prints, paintings and furniture.

“Rhenish Romanticism” guided tour
Whether it was William Turner, Victor Hugo or Clemens Brentano: they were all in Bingen and without exception enthralled by the beauty of the landscape and the rich history of the region. Bingen has always been the starting or ending point of the romantic journey through the Rhine valley. The guided tour will bring the 19th century back to life through captivating audio equipment in the poet’s chambers and a fascinating encounter with art and furniture of the era in the Rhenish Romanticism section of the Museum on the River (Museum am Strom).

"Castle cruise"

“Ringticket”
The ship of the Bingen–Rüdesheimer Line takes you past Bingen’s Mouse Tower, the ruins of Ehrenfels, and the quintessential symbol of Rhenish Romanticism, Rheinstein Castle, to Assmannshausen. With the funicular to the Hunting Lodge, then on foot past viewing points for magnificent scenery and magical caves to the Niederwald Monument. Soar over the vines in the funicular from there down to Rüdesheim – and back to Bingen on the ferry.

For 6 € the “Land of Hildegard” Ticket for one person offers the ferry price between Bingen and Rüdesheim (outward and return trips), plus admission to the Museum am Strom (Museum at the River) with its large department themed around Hildegard of Bingen.

Docking where the Rhine blossoms at its finest!

Dock at one of the most beautiful Rhine promenades between Cologne and Mainz. The town of Bingen am Rhein operates a landing stage for ships on the left bank of the Rhine. The gangway is provided for passenger and hotel ships against a fee.
The municipal landing-stage is located at Rhine Kilometre 528.5 +2, and is suitable for ships up to a total length of 136 metres and a maximum of 2,600 GRT.

Use of the landing stage is possible only with a confirmed booking: in the event of unauthorised utilisation a fee of € 800.00 will be charged for each day or part of a day. Cancellations can be made in writing free of charge up to 36 hours before the scheduled date of utilisation. Otherwise, cancellation charges will become due amounting to 50 % of the standard utilisation fee.
