The main organs of the town are the mayor and the town council. The tasks of the mayor include management of the town administration and implementing the decisions made by the town council. The mayor, Thomas Feser, was elected by the inhabitants in 2012. A period in office lasts eight years.
Together with deputy mayors Mönch and Voll the mayor is in charge of the administration.
The administration is located in Burg Klopp (Klopp Castle), in addition to offices in other buildings.
