In a grave in Bingen there was a sensational finding in 1925 dating from the 2nd century AD: It involved 67 pieces of surgical instruments belonging to a Roman doctor. It is the largest collection of such instruments in the world. The exhibition, which documents the whole content of the grave and introduces Roman medicine, describes the functions of each instrument.
