Experience the feeling of Rhine Romanticism. Follow in the footsteps of Victor Hugo, Friedrich Schlegel and William Turner, the painter.

The Bingen-Rüdesheim ship sails through the infamous Binger Loch, past the Mäuseturm (Mouse Tower) and the romantic ruins of Ehrenfels Castle. The Rheinstein and Reichenstein castles reveal what caused painters and authors to swoon 200 years ago. Visit Rheinstein Castle, the symbol of Rhine Romanticism, and go on board ship to the historical museum on the river – Hildegard von Bingen. In the Rhine Romanticism (Rheinromatik) department in the museum there are examples of illustrations of the Rhine and travels along the river from the 19th century. There is also a picture gallery depicting the history of travel along the Rhine.
