Softer and more comfortable cycling tours, also for families, can be through the Bingen vineyards.
More demanding tours lead us to the Rochusberg and the St Rochus Chapel, the fitness area and the Kaiser-Friedrich-Turm (Kaiser Friedrich Tower), with a marvellous view of the Rhine and Nahe valleys. The wine-information path in Bingen-Büdesheim and the wine-instruction path “Caput Mondis” in Bingen-Kempten connect Büdesheim and Kempten, both parts of the town, with the Rochusberg.
And, of course, the regional bath “Rheinwelle” can be reached by cycle through interesting farming tracks.
In order to improve orientation in 2007 the whole cycling traffic in Rheinland-Pfalz was provided with signposts and notice boards over a distance of 100 kilometres.
Cycling tourists and local bikers can enjoy the places of interest and the delightful landscape with its nature, but also can take advantage of the many opportunities to have a break and something to eat and drink.
Instructions for using the paths in the vicinity When using the paths please note that some paths are along concrete paths through fields. You must expect agricultural vehicles to appear, depending on the season, but also soiled paths, because the fields have to be ploughed and the grapes have to be looked after. The paths are, after all, part of the farmers’ place of work. Please remember that farmers and vintners maintain the beautiful cultural landscape, so that you can enjoy it. With a little consideration cyclists can enjoy their ride and the vintners can later look forward to having new customers for their wine.
